Browser notes

Information for the real person reading our imaginary river.

01

The river does not follow you home

The site does not include an advertising pixel or an analytics tracker. Its images, fonts and scripts are loaded locally. This version does not set a tracking cookie.

02

An open-page voyage

The trunk selection, crew view, compass clues and story variations live in the current page. The site does not use localStorage or sessionStorage to keep them after you leave. A browser may restore a tab or remember a form according to its own settings.

03

Ordinary resource caching

Your browser may cache a picture, font or stylesheet so it can load again without another download. That is normal browser behaviour and does not create a saved voyage in this website.

04

Motion and controls

A few visual entrances use local animation code. Reduced-motion preferences are respected. The story controls do not need a tracking identifier, an account or a third-party player to work.

05

Sending a note is separate

A shore-office submission sends the fields to the server for storage. Clearing device history or a browser cache does not remove that server record. Use the process in Privacy ashore if you want an enquiry reviewed.
